Episode 005
Sleepover Specialist Geeta Raj
So, what would you do if one of your colleagues casually mentioned the sleepovers he would have at the White House when he was a kid? Naturally you would want to know all the details of swimming in the White House pool and all the pranks that were played. However, if your life was just as incredible and included years of travel and discovery you might just want to partner up and create a company with “White House Sleepover” guy! Which is EXACTLY what my guest did. Introducing the award-winning educational curriculum and program: The Global Sleepover.
My guest is Geeta Raj is the smart woman that partnered with “White House Sleepover” guy (David) to create The Global Sleepover. Not only does she have a BA in Creative Writing and can speak Hindi, Urdu, and Spanish. She also holds a Masters in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, DC. (Who even knew that was an option to get in school?). After her work with USAID (United States Agency for International Development) she went back to live in DC which is where she met David.
Let me brag about The Global Sleepover…

Funny enough none of these reasons are why you will leave this podcast being impressed with my dear friend of over 25 years. Her story about growing up as an Indian-American girl with parents who were immigrants from India (in fact her father was a refugee in the 1940’s) will leave you wanting to meet up with her for coffee. And the next time you are in DC you should, because she would love it.
Two words to describe this fascinating story: PAN AM
